About me
I’m Adam, a Product Designer with 13+ years of experience across SaaS, fintech and B2B products.
I like being involved from the first product decision through to the details of what gets shipped.
Where it all began
I started messing around in Photoshop as a teenager. During a work experience placement, I saw design and code come together in a real product for the first time, and I was hooked.
That combination has stayed with me. I enjoy the early conversations about what a product should do, the detail of designing how it works, and working closely with engineers to get it into people’s hands.
What I do
Over the last 13+ years, I’ve worked in agencies, startups, SaaS companies, fintech and larger organisations. I’ve helped launch new products, designed hundreds of features, built marketing sites, improved onboarding and support, and worked across the wider customer journey.
Most of my work sits between product thinking and hands-on delivery. I like working closely with product, engineering, support and marketing because good product decisions rarely stay inside one team.
At Spiffy, the checkout product I helped shape has facilitated more than $1 billion in client sales.
Unicorn Club
I also write Unicorn Club, a weekly newsletter and publication about the decisions, details and trade-offs behind good digital products.
It started because I was reading a lot of product and design material each week, but too much of it ended up as saved links and open tabs. Each issue now takes one product moment, looks at it properly, and turns it into something readers can use in their own work.
Why I design
Product design sits in the middle of people, business and technology. That is what keeps it interesting.
The work is partly about finding a good answer, but it is also about helping a team understand the decision, make the trade-offs and turn it into something real.

Unicorn Club is read by nearly 4,000 people building digital products, including readers at Apple, GitHub, Dell, GitLab, AWS, IBM and eBay.
